Economic Development News
Besides greatly improved communications to homes and businesses in terms of service, the economic development advantages to the City of Highland would be almost immeasurable. Today's high speed, high tech industries are looking for locations (cities) that can fulfill their requirements for speed. Fiber is the answer to their needs.
Side note: There is also a new technology emerging in the world of internet communications called "Grid Technology". CERN (the inventors of the internet - and no, it wasn't Al Gore) is playing a large role in this technology. Read more about "The Grid" here and here. Interestingly enough, the only way to participate in this new technology is via the use of fiber.
